Your most sensitive biological data is protected by hardware-isolated confidential computing, end-to-end encryption (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit), and user-held keys for genomic uploads.
Your raw genome stays inside the enclave.
Confidential computing means your DNA file is decrypted and analysed only inside a hardware-attested enclave. Remote attestation gives cryptographic evidence that the code that ran is the code we published; only the computed outputs — variant classifications — leave the enclave. We pair this with user-held keys, AES-256 at rest, and TLS 1.3 in transit.
Confidential Computing
Genomic data is processed inside hardware-attested Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Raw sequences are decrypted only inside the enclave; only computed outputs (variant classifications) leave it. Xelecta servers never receive your raw genomic code.
User-Held Encryption Keys
Cryptographic operations occur on your device. Keys for genomic uploads are derived locally and not stored server-side. A server-side incident does not, by itself, expose plaintext genomic data.
Hardware-Isolated Enclaves
Computation runs inside hardware-isolated execution environments — Intel SGX, AMD SEV-SNP, or AWS Nitro Enclaves — with remote attestation. The trust model relies on the silicon vendor's enclave guarantees, not on policy alone.
GDPR Compliant
Lawful basis established for every processing activity. Data subject rights — access, rectification, erasure, portability — supported. EU data residency options on request.
HIPAA Aligned
Protected Health Information is handled under the HIPAA Security Rule (45 CFR Part 164). Business Associate Agreements are in place with all sub-processors that touch PHI.
